Well, it’s nearly the middle of the month and the blog hasn’t been updated. There has been a reason though. I have been working on a few projects in the background. Some are conceptual and others are just aesthetically pleasing to me. I’m a bit paranoid so I haven’t wanted to put any of the test content out in the real world yet. I can now though.
For the last 10 days or so I’ve been refining a post processing style that I think really helps accentuate the curves of the female form. I go the idea a while back actually. One of my friends was showing me some scans of some of his 90’s film images that he’d cross processed and then done some solarisation technique on. I thought I’d see if I could emulate the look with apps. That was about 4 to 6 month ago. When I was planning the first part of this years projects I decided that one of the things I wanted to do was create a homogenous body of work rather than the sort of random stuff I have been doing up to this point. Part of that meant I had to develop a processing style of my own and for the next few days i’ll let you see some of the results.
I really like the way that some of the images are much better black on white while others are better white on black as it were. These were all captured in my local village hall that I use as a studio. I’m not going to go in to the lighting and post processing but I can say it was trickier to achieve than I was expecting.
hope you enjoy todays starters anyway.
